CONSERVATION COMMISSION AND OPEN SPACE COMMITTEE

WHY WE ARE HERE

The mission of the Candia Conservation Commission is to protect the water resources, including wetlands, rivers, streams and riparian corridors, for future generations and wildlife. Also, we wish to protect our natural resources and open space for the future of our town.

WHO WE ARE

We are comprised of a group of 14 volunteers, which includes 7 regular members and 7 alternate members.

WHAT WE DO

  • Review wetland applications with respect to road and building applications that are submitted to DES, making recommendations where appropriate.
  • Attempt to promote and protect our rural character by hosting workshops and educating the residents about the importance of maintaining wildlife habitat and open spaces in our town.
  • Currently working with landowners to conserve land through activities of the Open Space Committee, a subcommittee of the Conservation Commission.

WHERE TO FIND US

We meet at 7:00pm on the third Tuesday of every month in the meeting room at the Candia Town Hall located at 74 High Street.
