2019 Town Revaluation from May to Sept
Posted on Thursday, June 6, 2019
The Town of Candia has contracted with Commerford, Nieder, Perkins, LLC to do a statistical update of values for 2019. CNP will be working with the Selectmen’s office to make sure this project is a successful one. The last revaluation was completed in 2014 and current state laws require towns to revalue every five years. A revaluation will determine the current fair market value of every property in town. It equalizes the values of all the properties for the purpose of a fair distribution of the tax burden.
Over the next month, the data collectors will be visiting homes with building permits and properties that have recently sold to verify the data. The valuation phase will be starting in May and finished by the end of September. CNP personnel will also be driving through the town reviewing properties to update the Assessor’s database. The data collectors will be wearing a visible ID on a lanyard and their car is registered with the Police as well as the Selectmen’s Office at the town hall.
If you have any questions about the revaluation process or need additional information, please contact the Selectmen’s Office at 483-8101.
