Conservation News: 2020 calendars and Barry Camp application available
Posted on Monday, December 2, 2019
The 2020 Candia Conservation Commission Calendars have arrived. They are available for purchase ($10/each) at the Candia Town Hall, Smyth Public Library, and any Conservation Commission Member. All funds are used to support the Debra Bell Levesque Scholarship to Barry Conservation Camp.
The Candia Conservation Commission is now accepting applications for the Debra Bell Levesque Scholarship to Barry Conservation Camp for the Summer of 2020. Candia youth, ages 10-16, are encouraged to apply and experience a week in the great outdoors. The 2020 Conservation Camp week reserved is July 12-17: 4-H On The Wild Side (age: 10-16)
The description reads: "In America's technology-based culture, the gap between youth and nature is growing. Experience nature and reunite with the great outdoors. You may have a chance to create a meal from gathered plants, fillet a fish and cook it over an open fire, sleep under the stars, climb a mountain, swim in a pond, create nature crafts, and more. Truly experience the great outdoors. Campers will also have a chance to enjoy a host of traditional camp activities like campfires, hikes, outdoor games, archery, and more. Sounds like fun!"
If this interests you, find out more about the camp on the UNH Extension Barry Conservation Camp website and consider filling out our application. All applications must be received by January 17, 2020.
