About
The Mission of the Town Clerk's Office is to provide competency, consistency and equality of services to all customers regardless of the uniqueness of the situation, in a friendly and caring manner.
What We Do
The Town Clerk's responsibilites and services include:
- Motor Vehicle Registrations including titles, passenger plates, vanity plates, tractor, trailer, motorcycle, agriculture, farm and conservation plates
- Dog licenses
- Marriage licenses
- Certified copies of vital records: births, marriages and deaths
- Keeper and preserver of Town Meeting minutes
- Caretaker of all board meeting minutes
- File Pole Licenses
- Conduct UCC searches
- Administer oaths of office
- Work as an election official whose duties include registering citizens to vote, issuing absentee ballots, officiating at elections, filing election returns and preservation of the checklist used at elections
- Submitting Dredge and Fill applications to the necessary parties and keeping a permanent record of such applications
- Signing and preserving Cemetery Deeds
- Prepare weekly remittals to the Town Treasurer
- Prepare financial and vital records reports for the Town Report
- Issuing Burial Transit Permits
- Issuing certified copies of any record
- File Articles of Agreement for non-profit organizations
- Accept and file sheriff's writs and petitions
