Interested in Candia’s history and heritage? Become a member of the Heritage Commission

The Candia Heritage Commission, appointed by the Board of Selectmen, is currently seeking new members.
The Commission provides for the proper recognition, use and protection of Candia’s historic and cultural resources. Its past work includes documenting and mapping the town’s historically unique settlement areas; participating in the dedication of the refurnished Moore School weathervane and offering a fourth grade unit on Candia history; organizing the town’s annual clean-up day; and publishing a new town history.
The Commission meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at the Smyth Memorial Building. Anyone interested in the history and heritage of Candia is encouraged to attend meetings, and can contact Chairperson Diane Philbrick at 483-8239 for more information.
