Smyth Library closed beginning Monday, March 16
Posted on Monday, March 16, 2020
Smyth Public Library will be closed beginning Monday, March 16 until further notice and potentially until Friday, April 3 following the school mandate by Governor Sununu.
All due dates will be extended and no late fees will incur after tomorrow.
All children’s and evening programming are cancelled for March and potentially April. The meeting room is also closed to any groups at this time.
We will continue to order any Interlibrary loans you may desire, but they may not be available to you until we reopen. Any items you have on reserve will still be there when we reopen.
The staff will be working to help you with online resources and please remember that available to you are Downloadable Audio Books, e-books, comics, music, movies, and magazines available on-line through Overdrive (nh.lib.overdrive.com); Hoopla (hoopladigital.com); and Kanopy (kanopy.com). We may also be adding a curbside delivery for any reserved books and will keep you posted on that service.
We will continue to monitor e-mail and phone calls and renew any library accounts as needed.
You can access your library account through our website (www.smythpl.org) to reserve materials and access all of our online resources.
Not sure about how to access your account? Give us a call at 603-483-8245 and we will get you set up. E-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or leave a voicemail if you would like to use the online services or have any questions while accessing them.
We apologize for the inconvenience, however, this decision was made with thoughtful care to help ensure the health and safety of the community.
Rest assured that decisions are being made with careful consideration, and quick changes are in response to new information.
Just as we do for bad weather, any changes in service hours will be posted on wmur.com, facebook and our website, www.smythpl.org.
Wishing you all good health,
Heidi and staff
