The Smyth Memorial Building, often referred to as the Old Library, is getting an award.
As most people know the Smyth Memorial Building is on the National Historic Register. This year the building is being recognized by New Hampshire Preservation Alliance for all of the work that has been done to restore the building.
The Smyth Building trustees want to thank the people of Candia for all of their support. This award is for the towns people. The people of Candia recognized the importance of this little building and for the past 12 years have supported the budgets that have made the restoration possible.
The Preservation Alliance recognizes our exceptional little building and the important role the towns people have played in its preservation.
Representatives from the Preservation Alliance will be at the Select Board meeting Aug 11, 6:30. They will be first on the agenda to make a presentation. The Smyth Memorial Building Trustees hope people will attend.
